Fashion is a huge part of everyone’s lives, whether they know it or not. It helps to define who you are as a person. Fashion is such a fascinating subject because you are able to show your creativity in so many different ways, this is why it interests me so much. I like how you can manipulate the fabric to create the desired effect and how you can develop so many ideas from sometimes just looking at one thing. I am really interested in fashion I enjoy reading magazines such as vogue and i. D, and also fashion blogs too. I love vintage clothes shopping as you can see the how the trends always re-occur throughout the history of fashion. I am keen to develop and learn new ideas and concepts which is why I think a Fashion course would benefit me greatly.

I am currently studying an Art Foundation Diploma, and have included photos of my recent work within this blog. I wanted to show a range of ideas and stages of work for instance mood boards, drawings, design ideas etc. One of the projects was to create a garment loosely based around the idea of around the world in 80 days in which I become fascinated with the use maps and using them as fabric for garments and other ways of embellishing onto maps with the ideas of travel and different cultures. We have also had a project based around White Winter Wonderland, in which we constructed garments out of paper, a difficult task but yet it was enjoyable to see the different ways to manipulate the paper which was very interesting. I have also submitted some experimental drawings because they were my take on nature project we were set, to show the different ranges of media and how it relates to the images I saw, whilst on a trip in Northumberland.
